Goal

Unharm have been pushing to make driving laws fair for cannabis patients who are currently banned from driving and at risk of facing court, even when unimpaired. The brief was to bolster their campaign to treat cannabis like any other drug, and lift the driving ban for patients.

Style

A social-first explainer outlining current driving laws for patients and the reform Unharm had been pushing for. We also made a series of mini-docos, sharing stories of people legally prescribed cannabis for treating insomnia, PTSD and cancer symptoms, exposing the universal ban on driving, despite being unimpaired. We shot these with their socials-first strategy in mind, framing for vertical posts during concept to delivery.

Impact

These videos added tangible, relatable stories to Unharm’s long term campaign for a complex policy change. The series resulted in thousands of people emailing their MPs in support of the reform. In June 2026 the Premier agreed to change the law, with government introducing the bill that assesses drivers on recent use of their prescription, not on traces of medicine taken days ago.
